Pain and suffer in these womens eyes
but bright futures just might lie
even the powerful and strong
just might breakdown and cry
but “One day everything will be ok
daughter.” mother and grandmother say

Pablo Picasso “femme en pleurs”. This is French and it translates to “weeping woman”

Eric Tournaire “blue Lion”

Pablo Picasso was influenced by african art heavily because he lived in Malaga spain for a long period of his life. Malaga is in southern spain very close to africa. You can tell he was influenced by african art because he used many different contrasting warm colors(except during his “blue period”). and he used many abstract shapes to create the big image. In the picture i chose by picasso he used alot of reds yellows and oranges. In the picture i chose by Tournaire there was also alot of red and warm colors. Also in both these paintings there is a good use of contrast using cold colors like green and blue.

The song being played is composed of different types of drums. The term Percussion means all different types of drums and other instruments that create sound without a certain note. These instruments are usually played by hitting with your hand, a stick or a pedal of sorts, also shaking of certain instruments creates a percussional noise. Percussion is very important in african tribal music. Drums and other simple percussion instruments are very easy to make especially using the little materials that these people had. Tribes were able to mass produce drums and so over time it has become something that represents alot of african music.
